Show A Longer Duck Reason Secretary of the Interior Harold Ickes has proclaimed an entension of the duck hunting season to 70 days to allow for the one-third, increase in-crease in North American water fowl, and, coincidental to the announcement, an-nouncement, the states fish and game department received a com-j munication from Charles E. Jack- j son, acting director of the United j States Fish and Wildlife Service in Washington, D C, explaining how some of Utah's hunting would be affected by this edict. The communication said in part: Season on Utah water fowl, in-! eluding wood thick and coots, Oc- j tober 15 to December 23; hunting I from sunrise to sunset; possession on opening day limited to daily bag. No change in bag limits. Not over one wood dude a day or in possession. Geese-, two daily, four in possession, no change. Duck shooting in the Utah area of the intermediate zone begins October 15. The daily bag limit i is 10 ducks, and there is a long list of ducks of which only one or two may be shot. No one may be in possession of more than 20 ducks at any time. Hours of shooting have been extended ex-tended from sunrise to sunset, an extension of a short period over the old' ruling which . prohibited shooting after 4 p.m. V |
