Show I FARM NOTES KY GOLDEN L. STOKER Ik-aver County Agent Cattle Tested for Hang's Disease The testing of dairy and beef cattle for Bang's disease was begun be-gun in Beaver county during the week. A veterinarian representing the U. S. department of agriculture bureau of animal industry is doing the testing. The testing is done free of charge; however, the owner must sign u contract to dispose of all ro-(ufors. ,The gjovemment will pay up to $25.00 for grades and up to $.00.00 for registered cattle that react. The owner receives the net salvage and in addition will receive re-ceive the government indemnity. The government will pay not to exceed $25.00 for grades and $50.00 for registered cattle, the difference between the salvage price and the appraised value. The reactors can be sold where they will ibring the most money, but must be for immediate slaughter. Those desiring cattle tested should notify the veterinarian while he is working in the community com-munity or report to the county agricultural agent. |
