Show Former Resident Dies As a Result of Auto Accident J. P. Adams, 73, former Union Pacific roadmaster at Milford but a resident of Riverside, California for several years, died June 2 from injuries he suffered the day previ-ious previ-ious in an automobile accident, according ac-cording to letters and newspaper clippings which have come to Mil-ford Mil-ford friends of the family this week. Mr. Adams was the stepfather step-father of Mrs. Fern Galnouer and George L. Harris and they, with Mrs. Adams, the widow, survive him, Mrs. Galnouer living in Riverside River-side and Mr. Harris in Salt Lake. Mr. Adams and a friend, Thomas L, Maxwell, 62, were occupants of a car, driven by Maxwell, which was wrecked in an unexplained manner as they were driving to observe the old site of the first postoffice in Riverside county, -an historical spot in Temescal canyon which lies between Corona and El-sinore. El-sinore. There were no known witnesses wit-nesses of the accident but motorists motor-ists passing soon thereafter found the two aged men in the wreckage of their car and rushed them to the county hospital, where their injuries were found to be critical though Mr. Adams regained consciousness con-sciousness before death came. Mr. Adams had been retired from the employ of the Union Pacific Pa-cific railroad more than four years ago and was an active member of the Union Pacific Old Timers and Boosters clubs. Mr. and Mi-s. Adams were prominent promi-nent in many activities while residents resi-dents of Milford, having lived in the home on north Main street now occupied by the Neely family They also had built for their daughter. Mrs. Galnouer, the bungalow bun-galow across the street now owned by the D. S. Williams family. " |
