Show FARM NOTES !BY GOLDEN L. STOKKR Beaver County Agent Furs Need Care Before They Are Stored for Summer Furs need special attention before be-fore they are stored for summer, according to Miss Hortense Snow of the extension service at the Utah State Agricultural ctollege. Furs should either ibe sent to a professional furrier or cleaned at home. Throughout the winter season sea-son they should have been dusted and brushed frequently and if worn in the rain they should be hung on a hanger and wiped with a dry ibath towel, they should be kept in a tight bag having a sack of para-dichloro para-dichloro benzine tied at the top. To clean the fur for storing: Rub thoroughly with hardwood sawdust that has been dampened with a dry cleaning solvent. The solvent absorbs the grease and dirt. When the fur is cleaned, shake out the soiled sawdust and rub dry clean sawdust over the fur. Then shake and beat the garment to remove the sawdust. All furs may be cleaned by this method excepting . ermine, white fox and other white furs, Miss Snow said. |
