Show FIRMAGETHMTRE Sunday and Monday "Maryland", with Walter Bren-nen, Bren-nen, Fay Bainter, Brenda Joyce, Charles Ruggles and others in the cast, comes to the Firmage theatre thea-tre Sunday and Monday. This picture brings horse-racing to the screen in technicolor. The story is that of a woman whose hatred of horses, stemming from the death of her husband at a fox hunt, is absolved as her son wins the Maryland hunt cup. The latest news and a travelogue also will be shown. Tuesday and Weftrteso'ay Deanna Duribin prows up another an-other notch in "First Love" which comes to this theatre Tuesday and Wednesday. Longer skirts, a more adolescent outlook on life, and the first love affair of her screen career, are the definite elements in the "growing-up" program. The cast includes Helen Parrish, Robert Ro-bert Stack, Eugene Pallette, Lewis Howard, June Storey and others. A news reel and a cartoon also will be shown. Thandar "The Man With Nine Lives", comes to this theatre Thursday only Boris Karloff, who was "The Man They Could Not Hang", which had to do with artificial heart experiments, is again in the role of doctor, here concerned with the treatment of cancer by "frozen sleep". Friday and Saturday "The Escape", 20th Century-Fox's Century-Fox's thrilling melodrama of New Yorks East side, Somes to the Firmage theatre Friday and Saturday, with Kane Richmond, Amanda Duff, June Gale, Henry Armetta and others in the cast. The doctor, who brought the East Side youngsters into the world and knows more about their lives than any other man, unfolds an amazing tale. "West of Carson City", a knock-'em-down, shoot-'em-up western of the old school, comes to this theatre as the other picture of a. double feature show on Friday and Saturday. The setting is a gold mining town with lawlessness and gambling in full sway. Comes "Jim Bannister" played by Johnny Mack Brown and empties the town of crooks almost single handed. Bob Baker, Fuzzy Knight, Peggy Morgan and Harry Woods are in the cast. |
