Show CHRISTIANSOENCE "Substance" is the subject ol the lesson-sermon at the Sunday service of the Christian Science Society in Milford September 15. The Golden Text is: "If we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it" (Romans (Ro-mans 8: 25). .Embodied in the Scriptural selections se-lections is the following: "And Jc-sus went forth and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. And straightway straight-way Jesus constrained his disciples disci-ples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking walk-ing on the sea" (Matthew 14: 14, 22, 25). Correlative selections include the following from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Scrip-tures" by Mary Baker Eddy: "In proportion as matter loses to human hu-man sense all entity as man, in that proportion does man become its master. He enters into a diviner divin-er sense of the facts, and comprehends compre-hends the theology of Jesus as demonstrated in healing the sick, raising the dead, and walking over the waves. All these deeds manifested Jesus' control over the belief that matter is substance, that it can be the arbiter of life or the constructor of any form of existence" (p. 369). M |
