Show BANKS AND COLLEGE LAUNCH NEW SCHOOL Aims to Offer Studies in Ad-"vanced Ad-"vanced Banking Subjects to Bank Executives NEW BRUNSWICK, N. J. The Graduate School of Banking, an unprecedented un-precedented educational project, operated op-erated under the joint auspices of the American Institute of Banking Section of the American Bankers Association and Rutgers University, with 220 enrolled students from 35 states and the District of Columbia, Inaugurated here in June its first resident session. The states represented and the number of registrants from each are ai follows: Alabama, 2; Arkansas, 2; California, 2; Connecticut, 9; Delaware, Del-aware, 3; District of Columbia, 6; Florida, 2; Georgia, 3; Idaho, 1; Illinois, Illi-nois, 8; Indiana, 2; Iowa, 1; Kansas, 1; Kentucky, 2; Louisiana, 3 Mary land, 1; Massachusetts, 9; Michigan, Michi-gan, 5; Minnesota, 1; Missouri, 5; Nebraska, 1; New Jersey, 31; New York, 50; North Carolina, 8; North Dakota, 1; Ohio, 7; Oklahoma, 1; Oregon, 2; Pennsylvania, 32; Rhode Island, 1; Texas, 5; Virginia, 6; Washington, 1; Weh Virginia, 1; Wisconsin, 4; Wyoming, 1. . The annual resident sessions of the graduate school will be supplemented supple-mented between periods by con tlnued extension work for the stu dents at their homes. The purpose of the school is described as being to offer In a three year course a com prehensive approach to an advanced study of the various administrative problems In banking and trust in stltutlons. The teaching procedure Is a combination of the case system and the lecture discussion method. The Curriculum The curriculum embraces banking administrative problems and policies, poli-cies, bank investment problems, legal le-gal and managerial aspects of trust business, legal phases of bank ad-ministration ad-ministration and economic Drobleuis In the field of money and credit. The public relations and responsibilities of bnuks and methods tor meeting these obligations are emphasized In - the courses. It Is planned to set up similar schools in cooperation with other universities in various parts of the country. The school will add 200 registrants each year for two years intil C .'O are enrolled. |
