Show Jottings From The Milford (XC. Camp (By Ray Souter, Reporter) The carpenters, laborers am'. C C C boys under the direction of Captain Gilbert Sr Knapp and Sam Shields, carpenter foreman, have been working hard this week on the construction of this new 4 camp. The headquarters building is now complete and the large joint mess hall and kitchen i.-nearly i.-nearly completed, lacking some work to be done on the inside. Floors on the supply building, officers of-ficers quarters and the four barracks bar-racks are now complete and most of the walls on the barracks, the ' supply building and officer? quarters have been set up. These walls do not take long to set up as they are in sections of five feet and are bolted' on to the floors. During the past several weeks new carloads of building material:', have arrived at this camp and the four trucks have been kept busy continually, hauling these material.-; from the cars to the campsite. Out of approximately 16 cars to complete the shipment of materials, materi-als, thirteen have been received to date and the other three are expected ex-pected to arrive here during the next few days. Living quarters were moved from the hot, uncomfortable tents to the mess hall, upon its completion, com-pletion, where it is miiah more comfortable and cooler during the day. The supplies of the cooks have been moved into the mess hall also, making it much better for them as now they don't have to work out in the wind and sand. Sunday a group of the fellows visited the old mine located northwest north-west of Milford and they seem to have enjoyed it very much. o |
