Martin had agreed to let Marshal Roy Coleman have the keys, providing assurance was given him the lobby would be properly policed of evenings eve-nings and the premises guarded by law. j World war veterans had met at 1 the Milford hotel and made a good start in getting organized into an i American Legion post. The fol-, fol-, lowing men had been elected t ' guide the destinies of the infant organization: Post commander C. R. Parrish; adjutant, Myron P. ! L e w i s ; first vice-commander, j Clarence Sweet; second vice-commander, Clarence Grimshaw; finance fin-ance officer, Sam Cline; chaplain, Leonard Bowen, and sergeant-at-arm-s, Ted Kronholm. Milford high school students had made an excellent showing at the High School day at Cedar City. Milford school had made a clean sweep in cooking competition, taking tak-ing first, second and third places. Second place in sewing also went to Milford while the band and orchestra each got second ranking. Orations brought another second to Milford while a first place was won in piano and a second in violin. Work had been started at the Jefferson store which would eventually even-tually bring about an entire rearrangement re-arrangement of the whole establishment, estab-lishment, to which a furniture department was being added. Miss Juanita Miller had entertained enter-tained her sewing club. Those present were Eileen Erickson, Mary Roper, Letha Schow, Lee Smithson and Mrs. Jim Smithson. The No-Hostess club had met at the home of Mrs. M. P. Lewis. Dinner had been served, after which bridge was played. Those enjoying the occasion were Mrs. -S Schow, Mrs. Jack Thiessen, Mrs. R. Nielsen, Mrs. E. Gillies, Mrs. J. Murdock, ' Mrs. C. Parrish and Mrs. F. Farmer. V |
