Show Beaver and Delta Win Two Berths In Regional Tourney The league-leading Beaver high school basketball team was mighty hard-pressed to eke out a 29-28 victory over the Milford team in the February 19 game played at Beaver and probably had no great desire to clash with the Tigers in the regional tournament being played at Beaver this Friday and Saturday. The score lead switched back and forth several times during dur-ing that game and the Tigers were rated a good chance of beating beat-ing their old rivals if given another chance. But that chance never developed. Possibility of Milford and Delta going into a second-place tie in the Beaver-Millard Beaver-Millard race, was eliminated Friday Fri-day night of last week, when the Beavers submitted themselves to a 35-27 defeat at the hands of the Rabbits at Delta, and thus insured berths for both those teams in this week's tourney. As a consequence, Coach Del Moine and his Tiger men made the trip to Hinckley Saturday night in a somewhat disillusioned state of mind as well as minus two first string players. Gerald Hickman, Hick-man, team captain and star forward, for-ward, was out of the lineup with an injured ankle and Elwood Vincent Vin-cent was out with head injuries. Under these conditions, the cellar champion Hinckley Mustangs, alter being held scoreless in the first quarter, started on a ram. page that kept them well in the lead the remainder of the game, to finish with the score 35-24 in their favor.
