Show NOTICE TO SUBSCRIBERS i WITH the cost of everything that goes into the making of a newspaper news-paper constantly increasing, not to mention living- costs and other expense items, it becomes necessary for us to raise our subscription rate. Beginning January.. 1, 1943, the price of The News will be $2.50 a year, payable in advance. Daily papers usually raise their subscription rates without any advance ad-vance notice, but The News feels that this is not fair to old subscribers, many of whom have been loyal supporters dating back to the early history his-tory of the paper. Accordingly, we are going to' give our readers ample time to effect substantial savings if they choose to pay in advance. Until December 31, this-year, subscribers to The News may extend their subscriptions one or two years in advance at the old rate of $2.00 a year, but two years in advance at this rate is the limit. People not now taking the paper also may take advantage of this offer, and, for good measure, we shall be glad to begin sending the paper at once, while dating the subscription from the first of the coming year. In other words, new subscribers will receive the remaining issues of this year without cost. |
