Show Contest Is Begun In Three Towns For Fair Queen Announcement is being made this week of the inauguration of the campaign for queen of the 1939 Beaver County Fair, to be held in Milford September 7-8-9. Mrs. J. D. Ryan of Milford has been appointed chairman of the fair queen committee and it is planned to conduct the campaign this year with a minimum of the misunderstanding and general dissatisfaction dis-satisfaction which just about wrecked the contest last year. All candidates for queen must qualify in riding ability and in the handling of horses. Candidates having the greatest number of votes in each town by August 15 will go into the finals and compete for designation as queen, the voting vot-ing in the finals to be completed by September 1. Candidates for queen may be registered at any of the following places in the respective towns: Minersville Truman's Service station, Hardy's Service station, Dotson's Service station. Milford Dick's Confectionary, Corner Drug. Beaver -Beaver Drug store or at Emil's Cafe. |
