Show iu Tier of Counties Threaten Revolt Southern Utah counties located on the west side of the mountains, will make a proposal at the meeting meet-ing of the Associated Civic Clubs of Southern Utah, to be held at Duck creek July 24, that is hoped will eliminate the contention that the association is dominated by counties on the eastern slope. It is expected that the counties on this side of the mountain will propose that the constitution and by-laws of the association ibe changed to stipulate that the presidency pre-sidency of the association be rotated rotat-ed among counties, and that the secretary reside in the same county coun-ty as the president. A meeting will be held in Cedar City on July 21 at which time a definite proposal will be outlined. County commissioners of Juab, Millard, Beaver, Iron and Washington Wash-ington counties, and presidents of chambers of commerce in all cities in those counties, are expected to attend the meeting in Cedar City. Under the rules of the association, associa-tion, the proposal cannot be acted act-ed upon at the July meeting. Any proposal must be presented 30 days before action can be taken. Thus the question should come up for a vote at the August meeting to be held in Fillmore. Cedar City Record. |
