Show Writes For The News r - 'Vi " . , ' - EDWARD W. PICKARD Famous Commentator Who Writes "Weekly New Review." Payne of Salt Lake, with Lloyd Mathews of Scipi as lassistant, three-quarters of a mile of diversion diver-sion ditch work has been completed complet-ed with virtually all of the excavating exca-vating done by hand, but the boys have done a piece of work of which they may well be proud. The canals constructed under this project will converge the flood waters of three large washes wash-es into one storage basin, which needs only a small dam to be contracted con-tracted in a break of natural dyke to create a splendid watering reservoir res-ervoir lying directly on the route of sheep herds moving to and from the winter range by way of Cove Fort. The project south of Minersville is under the foremanship of Clyde Tervort of Payson. The work being be-ing of such a varied nature there are a number of young fellows under him whose work is outstanding, out-standing, among them being Hubert Hu-bert Langford, Kentuckian, whose handling lof the blasting operations opera-tions is most efficient. Junior Rice, another Kentuckian, is a past master at handling the big caterpillar and bull-dozer and is fast training three other young fellows to handle the powerful machine ma-chine according to hoyle. Harry Holmes of Minersville, who has had considerable valuable experience experi-ence in the CCC since it was first established, has charge of the dam construction south of Minersville and has the complete confidence of Superintendent Koch and the respect and cooperation of the young men under him. Jump into your car some time and go out and see what is being done for Beaver county by the department of grazing, working through the CCC setup. This department is just an infant in the matter of age but the objective objec-tive is the bigcrest thing for the I rehabilitation of our country that could be conceived with Milford standing to benefit to an incalcu-' incalcu-' lable degree. |
