Mrs. cl -mith. Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. J. R. Murdock. Mrs. J- H. Weston.. Mrs. Gene Kirk and Mrs. LaMar Outzen. Mrs. Outzen won the prize for points. Mrs. Jorgenson, honors, and Mrs. Kirk, consolation. THURSDAY XIGIITERS MEET WITH MRS. MURDOCH The Thursday Night Club met at he home of Mrs. J. K- Murdock :n Thursday of last week, vto honor Mrs. George Jorgenson, who is 'caving for California. The guest of honor was presented with an appropriate gift by the club members. Those present were Mrs. E. L. Smith, Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. J. H. Weston. Mrs. Sam Cline, Mrs. LaMar Outzen, and Mrs. Harold Cline. At bridge, the prize for points was won by Mrs. John Weston, honors by Mrs. Smith, and consolation consola-tion prize went to Mrs. George Moore. - MRS. MELTOX HOST AT BIRTHDAY PARTY nriHnn n t-prtn i ned on Monday, April 1st, in honor of the fifth birth anniversary of nelson nel-son Bobbie. Twenty-one little friends enjoyed the afternoon playing games. A delicious lunch was served at 4 o'clock to Pete Robinson, Steven Carter, Catherine Ann Miller, Betty and Lucille Ferguson, Fer-guson, E'mer Barnes. Philip and Sharon Hickman, Bobbie Stone-hocker, Stone-hocker, Jackie and Carol Sue Bran-non, Bran-non, Billie Joe and Ray Rogers, Leslie Barton, Jimmie and James Skillicorn, Barbara Dennis, Don-nie Don-nie Whittaker and Mary Lou Biesecker. REGIOXAL SPEECH MEET HELD AT MILFORD The Speech Meet for Region Six, Southern Utah, was held at Milford Mil-ford high school on Saturday, March 30. The meet consisted of debate, oratory, extemporaneous speaking and panel discussion. Judges for the meet were representatives repre-sentatives of the four counties parti- ipating in the event. Judging was carried out through the me-lium me-lium of sec re cards designed fc the event. These score cards are being forwarded to the participating participat-ing schools. Of the contestants participating, the following were judged outstanding out-standing and will participate in the state speech finals at the Univer sity of Utah: Oratory Charlotte Heap, Cedar City. Extemporaneous speaking Wesley House, Cedar City. Panel discussion Ann Ashcroft of Cedar City; Bill McDonald and Joe Murdock, Mur-dock, Milford, and Blaine Tueller. Cedar City. Debate Maurine Robbins and Elizabeth Moody of Delta, Miles Kleinman and Shirley Ballard of Hurricane, Dorothy Campeau and Bill McDonald of Milford, Ralph Benson and June Dicker, and Anna Robinson and Carey Ward, both teams of Parowan; Robert Gardner and Gardner Snow, of St. George. Both affirmative and negative were debated by each speaker in the debating contest.
