Show "MINERSVILLE By MRS. LILLIAN McKNIGHT Saturday evening a reception was given for Jimmie Sherwood and his, Er.g'uh bride, by Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sherwood. The program was as follows:; T.np dance Carol Myers: reading., F.ea Hollingshead: duet, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Jones: cornet so a , Sherman Carter: piano solo, Sally, Kay Myers. Mrs. Armina Banks acted as mis-tress of ceremonies, j Dancing and refreshments were j enjoyed by the many guests, in-1 cuding the following from out ofj town: Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sherwood of Juab county, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Sherwood of Provo. Mrs. Mary Hil-rebrand Hil-rebrand of Price, Mrs. Lena Fod-debrand Fod-debrand of Price, Mrs. Lena Fod-and Fod-and daughter Jerry of Helper. 3o0 persons attended the reception. The honored couple expressed sincere appreciation for the many : lovely gifts, and especially thank j the members of the committee who made the affair so enjoyable. Mr .and Mrs. Chet Cusick are guests at the Hayward Carter home. They are from Los Angeles. Returning to make their home here are Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine Dotson and family, who have lived in Provo the past several years. Linda Lee, tiny daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Sherman Carter, was painfully burned Sunday evening eve-ning when she pulled a pan of hot ashes onto her legs and arms. . Marilynn, baby daughter of Bill and Frieda Wood, is ill with pneumonia. pneu-monia. A new baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Rollins Friday at Eeaver. Ward Carter and Louis Sanford were in town on business Sunday. They had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Carter. Arnold Rollins, who has served in the navy for the past two years, has been released. So also has Vance Marshall, son of Mrs. Drew Hall. Mrs. Lawrence Dotson has gone to Long Beach to visit with her children who live there. Mrs. Lottie Gray, who has spent the past winter working in the L. D. S. temple at St. George, is home for a visit. Clyde Evans and Van Davis spent the week-end in Payson visiting vis-iting with Mrs. Velma McAffie, an sunt. In connection with the livestock show scheduled for Saturday, a program and lunch will be offered at noon, with a dance and hot supper sup-per slated for the evening. Proceeds Pro-ceeds from these attractions, will be given to the new church building fund. |
