Show SILVER AT LONDON Because of the relation of silver to the general commodity level, it is beleived that some plan will be evolved at the forthcoming forth-coming World Economic Conference at London for improving1 the status of silver as a monetary metal. It is not anticipated that international bi-metallism will be adopted, but it is more than likely that effort Wall be given to stimulating greater use of silver as a medium of exchange. This is good news, for two reasons. One is that gold has fallen down on the job it hasn't been capable of keeping international inter-national commerce in motion, and the depressed price of silver has deprived half the world's people of much of their buying power, at the expense of international trade. The other is that a revival of silver will put the breath of life again into the mining industry it will create jobs, purchasing power, stimulate business busi-ness and agriculture. The thinking public will be watching the action of the Conference on silver with intense interest. |
