Show j Milford, St.George i Battle For Cellar; ! MilfordWinsPlace i The Milford and St. George baseball base-ball teams made of their league contest con-test at St. George Sunday quite a scrap for the cellar position in league standing and Milford won out right handily, dropping the game to th Dixie youngsters by a score of 20-8. With the first two innings tucked away the game looked like an easy win for Milford but the third inning was disastrous and the fiffth was a repetition, the Milford defense breaking break-ing down badly in both of these frames, while the left handed bii guns of the Milford offense weic held hitless against the southpaw pitching of Webb. Box .-cores will appear next issue.! Sundays game between Milford and I Beaver, to be played at the Milford park, should be a good one. The only league game thus far won by Milford was against the present league leaders lead-ers in the fracas at the county seat on Memorial day and those fellows are still smarting under that defeat. Whether or not Milford will be able ' to repeat remains to be seen. I |
