Show SOUTH MILFORD NOTES Social Hour Club The Social Hour club met on Thursday with Mrs. F- B. Robinson at the Club house. The members worked on the making of Red Cross articles. Miss Gladys Gospill reported on Lamp Shades and Flower Pot Covers, a project of the Extension course, and those interested are meeting on Wednesday evening at the Club house to learn the arts and mysteries held fast in a simple sheet of paper, aided aid-ed by skillful fingers. Mrs. Horace Palmer was made a member of the club and Mrs. Carlton, Carl-ton, as a guest, spoke of -her daughter's daugh-ter's work in the devasted area in Porto Rico. The hostess exhibited a cake, festively festi-vely decorated and exquitite enough for a bridal party. It was a surprise gift from her husband to the club. Amidst happy commenting the mem-1 bers were seated at small tables to enjoy portions of said cake, accompanied accom-panied by ice cream. The club will meet at the club house on October eighteenth, with Mesdames Rollins and Cook. Miss Deering, of the Minersville High School faculty, was the weekend week-end guest of Miss Margaret Cates. Y J. G. Weber has added several new cows during the past week and now has a substantial dairy herd. Mr. Weber has great faith in this new industry in our valley. Incidentally it is well worth a visit' to his ranch to look over his pedigreed white Leghorn pullets. Mrs. C. G. Haskell is actively at work on the Milford News subscription subscrip-tion contest for the Whippet coach. Road Meeting "A largely attended meeting of the men of the community was held at the Club house Monday evening to discuss a proposed new highway to Minersville. |
