Show The Rev. J. B. Lecdom, who has spen the past month visiting his daughter, Mrs. W. C. Cates, returned return-ed to his home in Sawtelle, California, Calif-ornia, last Friday. Elmer Golden, of Delta, is here and has completed the installation of an electric pump and power line on his land which lies east of J. G. Weber's. Seed potato planting is practically finished. With propitious weather conditions, con-ditions, the farmers are expecting great returns from this crop. Garden planting is the order of the day for everyone just now. The Rev. Homer Root and family were callers in the Valley the past week. Social Hour Club The Social Hour club held a No-Hostess No-Hostess session at the Club house last Thursday afternoon, May 17. A small can of Duco paint and a tiny brush in the hands of each member mem-ber whiled away a most merry afternoon. after-noon. The decorating of small articles ar-ticles transformed them at once into articles of art, vases, trays, boxes, flower pots and plates being possessed possess-ed by everyone at home going time. Four new members were added to the club. During the brief business session the club appropriated money for oilcloth covers for the kitchen tables and paint for the various tables tab-les and several doors. The ladies met the following Thursday to house-clean house-clean the community house and apply the paint. The next regular meeting will be held at the Club House Thursday, June 7, with Mrs. C. G. Haskell as hostess. |
