Show ASKS THAT FLOWERS NOT BE DESTROYED Cooperation of the motoring public in preserving wild flowers, especially those near hotels, lodges and public camps, which are threatened with extinction ex-tinction is being ,sought by the National Na-tional Park Service which has addressed ad-dressed a plea to motor organizations asking assistance in. broadcasting information in-formation to their members, according to ,the Utah State Automobile Association, As-sociation, which has been an active agent in conservation movements. The Park Service request reads in part: "During the last two years consider- j able apprehension has arisen over the danger threatening park flowers, particularly in regions surrounding hotels and camps. The cooperation of the visiting public is necessary if these flowers are to continue to grow and to delight the constantly increasing increas-ing number of visitors. While regulations regu-lations regarding the picking of flowers flow-ers are in effect, permitting the picking pick-ing of few flowers under supervision, many people when not observed pick or pull up large quantities." In conjunction with this plea from the Park Service, the Automobile Association As-sociation urges that al! flowers, whether in National areas, along public pub-lic highways or on uncultivated private pri-vate property, be allowed to remain in their natural state for the pleasure of those who motor. |
