Show REGISTRATION DATE FOR U. OF D. IS SET Special to the Milford News Registration for the winter quarter at the University of Utah will take place Monday, January 5, 1931, according ac-cording to an announcement from the office of President George Thomas. All students will register at that time including those entering the University Univer-sity for the first time. Regular class instruction will begin Tuesday, January Janu-ary 6. The last day for enrollment in classes clas-ses for the winter quarter is Monday, January 19. The quarter will end Saturday, March 21, and registration for the spring quarter will take place Monday, March 23. High school graduates who are entering en-tering the University for the first time at the beginning of the winter quarter must make application for admission ad-mission and have their credits in the office of the recorder prior to the date of registration. A number of new courses will be offered in the departments of engineering engin-eering and zoology for the first time. Mrs. Rose H. Widtsoe, associate professor pro-fessor and head of the home economics econ-omics department will return for the winter quarter from a leave of absence. ab-sence. Students with failing grades for the autumn quarter will be notified before the beginning of the new quarter, according ac-cording to an announcement from the recorder's office. The total registration for the autumn aut-umn quarter was 3240. About 200 new students are expected to register for the winter quarter, and it is expected ex-pected that the total registration for the college year 1930-31 will exceed 3500. |
