Show MILFORD SHIVERS AS TEMPERATURE FALLS DOWN TO 14 BELOW 0 Milford had a genuine cold snap this week when the thermometer started on the down grade Monday night and didn't stop until it reached 14 below zero. It was the characteristic character-istic drop in temperature that follows a storm, for there was an inch and a half of snowfall Saturday. Monday's cold spell is the gravest yet this winter but not unusual for D e c e m b er, according to Charles Beard, government weather observer, who stated that often December temperature temp-erature reaches as low as twenty below be-low zero. November Record Month Temperature readings for November, however, tell a different story, for the average for last month was lower than it has been for November in twenty five years. Zero weather occurred oc-curred last month and several times the thermometer stopped at 1 degree above zero. That brought the average aver-age down so that this year's readings for November are not only lower than they have been in twenty five years , but with three exceptions, lower than they have been in the history of Utah. Complete readings for the past few days are: Friday five degrees. Saturday fifteen degrees Sunday five degrees. Monday fourteen degrees below zero. Tuesday nine degrees below zero. |
