Show ; ! CHURCHES AND LIONS PROVIDE CHRISTMAS ! CHEER FOR FAMILIES HIT BY HARD TIMES ! ALL MILFORD HAS CAUSE FOR REJOICING i i That the needy and unemployed of Milford may have as i merry a Christmas as the more fortunate citizens, the churches, : Lions and Union Pacific Employees have banded together to supply sup-ply food and comfort to over thirty families in the town. At a meeting held Monday night at the L. D. S. Church, committees com-mittees from the Lions Club, the railroad brotherhoods, the various var-ious churches and charitable organizations united forces and organized or-ganized the work of providing Christmas dinners for the needy with a wholehearted enthusiasm that is perhops the finest display of Christmas spirit that the town has witnessed. It was agreed that each organization organiza-tion would care for as many of the families that been brought to its notice as it could and. that the Lions and railroad brotherhood would care for the remainder. Ways and means were discussed and work allotted allot-ted among the committeemen. Since then they have rallied to the work with such zeal and enthusiasm that complete success is assured. Christmas day will see fuel and food in the home of every needy family in Milford, for the organizations have striven to their utmost to bring Christmas cheer to everyone and to see that none within the city will fail to find Christmas a day for rejoicing. Active Committee Representatives of the organization active in the work are: Mrs. John Hanlon for the Catholic Ladies Aid, Mrs. A. J. Atkin, for the Christian Scient, Mrs. Erma Gillies for the Business and Professional Club, Mrs. Shepherd, Mrs. Gadberry and Mrs. Aaron Smith for the Methodist Church, Mrs. J. R. Murdock, Mrs. R. C. Carlson, and Mrs. Ralph Ellings-worth Ellings-worth for the Lions, Mrs. Charles Parrish, Mrs. Antone Johnson, Mrs. Osborne for the L. D. S., Mrs. Steen-back, Steen-back, Mrs. Charles Sportsman and Mrs. John Killam for the G. I. A. and Charles Smith for the Red Cross, R. E. McKinnan for the railroad employees employ-ees and Dr. Addison Bybee chairman of the welfare committee for the Lions. o |
