Show LAZINESS AND BASEBALL j Fans are hoping that the beating- Milford baseball team received Sunday at the hands of Beaver will prove salutary; That the boys will profit by experience and turn out for practice. At least three members of the first tehm who played through the entire game with Beaver had not been out for a single practice during the preceding pre-ceding week. Two or three others had been out for only one practice. No player, no matter how clever or experienced he be, can put up a decent showing at a game when he hadn't had a base hall in his hand for over a week. Stiff, cold muscles cannot react quickly and smoothly. Milford has as good material this year as last. There is no reason rea-son why Milford should not make as good a showing this year as last.Laziness on the part of the players is a poor excuse for a losing los-ing team. The town wants a good team and will support a good teajn, but it should not be expected to get behind a team that remember re-member base ball only on the day of a game. n |
