Show MANY CROWD POOL ON DAY OF OPENING GOOD SEASON AHEAD The opening of the Lions swimming pool on Memorial day was a marked success. Over a hundred lovers of water sport registered with the attendant at-tendant and enjoyed the luxury of a cool, clean swim. The pool is proving a special attraction at-traction to the children as on opening day approximately seventy-five percent per-cent of the swimmers were youngsters. young-sters. While Sunday, the sixty-three patrons were almost entirely children. Monday and Tuesday were adult days as fifty or over of the bathers were over the age of sixteen. Large attendance at the pool on the first week of its operation this year indicates a successful season for the Lions. Opening day this year compares com-pares favorably with ,that of last year. Considerably more swimmers patronized the pool at last year's opening op-ening but the date was set a month later and the weather was more suitable suit-able for swimming. Taking weather and novelty into consideration, this year's opening is as good as last. The pool is to be conducted with every possible precaution against contagion con-tagion and accident An attendant is always present, prepared to assist anyone who may become distressed while swimiming Sanitation is one of the first considerations. The water is changed and chlorated twice a week and the bath houses are disinfected frequently. The attendant is instructed instruct-ed to watch for skin eruptions or indication's in-dication's of contagious disease in the patrons and during the past week several sev-eral have been sent down to the doctor doc-tor for a permit before they were allowed al-lowed to enter the pool. With the coming of warmer weather, weath-er, a larger attendance is expected and this year is in a fair way of being even more successful than the last. Even a fair attendance will insure the Lions of paying of the indebtedness of the pool. |
