Show PUBLIC RELATIONS DINNER IS SUCCESS (By Annie J. Atkin) March 8 to 14 is set apart throughout the United States as National Na-tional business women's week and has four years of history. The Milford Mil-ford B. P. W. club observed the public pub-lic relations dinner. These dinners were given in 1250 cities of the United States on March 12th. Today the observance of these dinners have become . channels for inaugurating civic and community projects. Of great significance, however, is the fact that the programs at these jdinners have become essentially cooperative, co-operative, men discussing with the women means to further community welfare. Banquet Given A banquet was given by the B. P. W. club at the Milford Cafe on Thursday, March 12. Representatives Representativ-es of nearly all the clubs connected with public relations were invited as ;guests of the club. At the close of I the banquet which was greatly en-joyed en-joyed and admired with its beautiful .decorations of club colors, green and white with a center piece of green Jand white carnations in a crystal ivase with green candle in crystal I candle sticks around the center-1 center-1 piece. The following reports were given: President A. J. Atkin greeted the guests and explained the aims of the club and the good accomplishments in many ways. Mrs. Atkin introduced introduc-ed the following representatives of other clubs, who worked along the line of public relations. Wynaught Speaks L. A. Wynaught represented the Lions Club in a very entertaining Jand enlightened way. Mrs. Antone j Johnson spoke for the Relief Society's I great work done in our city. Dr. C. !R. Parrish explained the good done by the American Legion. Mrs. Ivan McKnight gave a wonderful explanation explana-tion of the Social Hour club of South Milford. The Better Homes of Am-'erica Am-'erica organization was explained in 'an appreciative manner by Mrs. Rue jNeilson. Milford Home and Garden club was very interestingly given by Mrs. John Williams. Ladles Aid by Mrs. Gadberry. American Legion Auxiliary and activities was given by Mrs. Helena McGarry. ! These addresses were interspersed by a quartet under the leadership of Miss Veronica Davis and some vocal selections given by Mrs. McGarry. About twenty guests were present -and each one received a green and Civic Accomplishments i All the reports were eye openers showing the great good these organizations organi-zations were aceomplishlngs in a civic civ-ic and social way. I This occasion for the men's organizations organ-izations to meet the B. P. W. and other women's organizations, to get the women's viewpoint concerning outstanding community needs and their solution was very beneficial and helpful. j These public relations dinners will be hold every year on March 12 and conducted from instruction given out by the national B. P. W. at New York City. ! |
