Show GIGANTIC CELEBRATION IS ARRANGED FOR OPENING OF NEW ASSOCIATION BUILDING A gigantic celebration, the largest ever attempted by the Utah Poultry Producjers Cooperative association, will mark the formal opening, March 25, of the new $250,000 central office building, cold storage plant, feed mill, egg and poultry plant now completed in Salt Lake. Every poultryman in Utah and southern Idaho, whether a mem ber of the association or not, is invited and urged to attend the festival, it was announced recently by Clyde C. Edmonds, general manager. All are assured a full day of education, educat-ion, fun and entertainment. A parade through the heart of. town, an inspection of the huge plant in full operation, a short mass meeting meet-ing and a dance will feature the merry-making. Not only are poultry-men poultry-men urged to be present, but the public is cordially invited to join in the celebration. It is expected that thousands will participate. The plant will begin operating a-bout a-bout one week before the celebration day, getting in full swing for the visitors' inspection. Completed it is one of the largest, best equipped and most modern all-around poultry establishments est-ablishments in America. The parade, opening the celebration, celebrat-ion, will form at 10:05 A. M., Wednesday, Wed-nesday, M?.rch 25, on North Temple street. Promptly at 11 o'clock it will proceed down Main street, past the Brigham Young monument to Fifth South, where walking contingents will drop out or board cars, and then continue to the plant on Quayle avenue ave-nue and West Temple. Headed by a large band, seven sections, sect-ions, interspersed by smaller bands, colors and possibly floats, will make up the parade. The officers and directors direct-ors of the association will ride in cars behind the first band, followed by a section of raiload officials, with each company hauling Utah eggs being repersented by at least one auto load. Fleet of trucks The central office force, and branch managers; and warehouse employes will compose the next two sections, followed by cars from the 40 different differ-ent local units in the state association. associat-ion. A fleet of the associaton's trucks, likely decorated for the occasion, will bring up te rear. The several bands distributed throughout the length of the parade will be furnished by local associations. Upon arrival at the warehouse, about 1 p. m., the visitors will be divided into groups to inspect the plant, each accompanied by a guide to explain the various operations and facilities. Each party will end its toui at the association's commodious garage gar-age where refreshments will be served. Inspection tours will continue until 6 p. m. and at 7 o'clock poultrymen, visitors and officials will assemble on the third floor of the main building for a program of short talks and entertainment. Dancing will begin at 9 p. m. and continue as long as the crowd desires. |
