Show o ARIZONA ACCEPTS PART OF STRIP HIGHWAY. Good progress is being made this winter by Skousen Brothers, contractors con-tractors on the highway across the Arizona strip. Four miles of new road has been accepted by the state of Arizona and is now o'pen to travel. This short stretch eliminates the almost al-most impassable detour around the Big Bend section, which, before the recent storm, caused considerable delay de-lay and trouble for travelers. The section completed is known as schedule sched-ule 1, and extends from a point a short distance this side of the Big Bend to the new $40,000. steel bridge across Sand Hollow. This bridge is now in use although some work remains re-mains to be done on both approaches. This structure has been accepted by federal and state engineers. Nevada has completed its mile of highway from Mesquite to the line. The new road out of Mesquite will lead northeast north-east from Lundy's service station instead in-stead of making a turn to the east through the Mesquite lane. News, St. George. |
