HIGH PRICES. Editor, The Milford News. Dear Sir: A word or two about our local theatre entertainment. Each time I sit thru a performance I firmly vow it will be the last and for lack of other amusements I return only to make the vow stronger. Will we, the people of Milford, continue, con-tinue, to pay half a dollar for ordinary ordin-ary shows? Where are some of the really worth-while shows, such, as "The Taming of the Shrew," "Disraeli," "Dis-raeli," "Bulldog Drummond," "Gold Diggers of Broadway," "The Cock-Eyed Cock-Eyed World," "The Love Parade," "The Trespasser," and so on? I could mention a dozen or more pic- j tures not shown here, that, with 100 " , per cent talking in the right places, might be worth almost 50 cents. When the theatre had local competition, com-petition, our prices, if I remember correctly, were 35 cents on week nights, and 50 cents for Sunday and an occasional "big" show, and then usually the manager tried to have additional features. What Milford needs is better pictures pic-tures at fairer prices. Does anyone agree? ' INDIGNANT. - o |
