Show Billiards to Gain Many Recruits in Near Future More tha-n 3,000,000 new billiard players will be developed within the next five years. This is the conservative conserva-tive estimate of G. Raymond Collins, president of the National Billiard Association As-sociation of America. He is basing this estimate on a survey which he has been making for the last year. Reports which are reaching his headquarters head-quarters daily from all parts of the country Indicate clearly that billiards Is gaining rapidly In popularity. This ' growth has been among the juniors, great development being reported re-ported in boys from seven to fourteen years of age. The Introduction of the i small table, which has brought bil1 liards within the reach of all, Is directly di-rectly responsible for this great Impetus. Im-petus. The miniature table has been to billiards what the small car has been to the automobile Industry. C. A, Storer, director of players for the National Billiard association, who has been in charge of the world's championship and sectional tournaments, tourna-ments, already has started work on a few sectionals as an experiment Just what size table will be accepted as standard for the boys' tourneys also must be settled. |
