Show Clean-Up Campaign To Start Monday ? All Groups Join In Public -Spirited Move i Representatives of nine organizations organiza-tions of Milford met Wednesday with the Lions club and together worked out a plan for cleaning up the town. The guests of the club and tile organizations or-ganizations which they represented were W. A. Miller, L. D. S. church; Frank Farmer, Milford Fire Department; Depart-ment; Al Joost, Veterans of Fon-ign Wars; Lester Farnon, Union Pacific Athletic club; W. F. Cottrell, Methodist Metho-dist church; R. B. Young, Masonic Lodge, and M. J. Andrews, Milford Public Schools. The American Legion and the Boy Scouts were also represented rep-resented through members of the Lions club. Each guest make a talk, and every one promised the support of his organization or-ganization toward the clean-up move. Members of the Lions club spoke also, including Sam Cline, George Jefferson, Dr. C. R. Parrish, 1 Cline. Jos. R. Murdock, A. E. Smith and M. H. Pool. A motion was passed which created a committee com-mittee from five groups to use full authority in directing the clean-up. The support of the Town Board was pledged and trucks wfll be employed to haul away rubbish. The active work will begin Monday. Each organization or-ganization was given a location to clean up. At Wednesday evening of next week, the town will be inspect-.(1 inspect-.(1 by the directing committee, and action will be decided upon to clean up any unsightly spots left. It is believed be-lieved that by Saturday, the 27th, the woik will all have be3n done. George Jefferson stressed four ideas on cleaning up, namely, cleanup, clean-up, paint-up, fix-it-up und keep-Hup. Saiil Cline spoke, saying that the actual physical work of a few days of cleaning up should be only preliminary pre-liminary to un awakening of civic pride which will have a tendency to caue a much cleaner looking city all of the time. Principal Andrews, of the public schools, stated that once the town is entirely cleaned by a few day's effort, ef-fort, the physhologieal effect would be beneficial and lasting, especially 1 among school children. The campaign will include gathering gather-ing up rubbish and removing it; repairing re-pairing fences, gates, painting up around premises that need it; and I the removal of dilapidated shacks for sanitary and health re;ons.
