Show HIGH SCHOOL NEWS From the Tiger Tattler SCHOOL PLAY CHOSEN A new play has been selected as the annual high school dramatic presentation. pre-sentation. Due to an excess in school activities in the past, the former play "Bab" was postponed so many times that it was deemed ' wise to select a new one. 1 Mr. Famworth announces that the new play will be "The Patsy", a play in three acts which is full of comedy and action. The tryouts will be held in the near future. Every student in the school is expected to try for a part. P. T. A. MEETING The Parent-Teacher's association met Monday evening, March 16, in the high school auditorium. Entertainment consisted of musical selections by the grade and junior high students. The sixth gralde orchestra played several selections. A clarinet duet was rendered by Irene Munford and Vurl Frazier, and a violin solo was played by Lorraine Bowman. The meeting then was turned over to Mr. D. P. Muarray and Mrs. Effie Barrows of the U.. A. C. Extension who spoke on the importance of 4H clubs, which they are making an effort to establish in Milford. These clubs arc mainly for the purpose of teaching girls in rural eorrfmunities of marriageable age expert ways of homemaking and housekeeping. Committee in charge: Mrs. Pool, Mrs. Neilson, and Mrs. Williams. CLEVER ASSEMBLY One of the cleverest assemblies of this school year was presented Fri day, March 20, by the food and sewiry departments under supervision of Jean Woodside, instructor. Ethel Tanner, announcer of the program, pro-gram, introduced the following numb ers: Song, Luella Bird, Stella Hollis, Vernice Smith; Playlet, "Our cooking class", Inez Smith, Phylis Whitbeck, Irene Munford, Burnella Jones; Stunt, 'Miss Etiquette," Lucille Fraziev, Luella Bird; Reading, Janet Rollins; "Awakening of Amy Brant", by members of the ninth grade food's class; "The fashions of the Ages", advanced .Nothing class. STORY CONTEST Every student in the high school English classes is required to write an essay or a story, which is based on ' rue pioneer lifs. High school students all over the state are requested to write these stories and the best will be selected by the State Pioneer association and will be submitted for publication. The stories thus far written by Milford students are very good and the material is new. NEW STUDENTS Three new students have registered in the Milford High School. These students are: Jack Weston from Delta, registered in the Freshmen class; Kenneth We?ton from Delta, registered regist-ered in the junior class; and Fay Sorenson registered in the eighth grade. |
