Show SOUTH MILFORD The floats entered in the parade on Pioneer Day in Milford by the Social Hour and Live Wire clubs attracted much attention and favorable comment. com-ment. They were made to represent distinctly ranch, products. Mrs. Carl Elmer has been seriously serious-ly ill since her return from Delta last Friday. Mrs. Parley Fisher and Mrs. C. A. Rohn were visiting in Minersville on Tuesday. Mrs. Elmer Golden arrived last Monday from Delta bringing with her the infant daughter born at the home of Mrs. Golden's parents three weeks ago. The Social Hour club met last Thursday afternoon at the club house with Mesdames Cates and Rohn as hostesses. The entire afternoon was devoted to the planning of the float for Pioneer Day. Mrs. Ralph Ellings-worth Ellings-worth sang several selections in her usual pleasing manner. (Light refreshments re-freshments were served by the hostesses. hos-tesses. Mrs. Carl Elmer and Mrs. Ralph Mobias will entertain the club on Thursday, August 4. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ellingsworth arrived by motor from Dayton, Washington last Saturday evening where they were recently married. Congratulations and best wishes are extended to the young couple who will take up their new life among us. The Live Wire girls met on Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon and completed the table decorations for their mothers luncheon which they are giving on Wednesday, August 3rd. The residents of the Flat turned out in goodly numbers at Milford for the celebration, also for the horse races and fancy riding in the afternoon. after-noon. The false chinch bugs are appearing appear-ing in hordes in the grain fields, the farmers are cutting the grain green to save as much ar possible from these pests. Second cutting of alfalfa is well under way and the crop promises a heavier yield than the first cutting. Some ranchers are leaving the stand for seed but as stripping has already begun the seed prospect is only fair in most places. |
