Show LOCAL CLUBMEN ARE HONORED GUESTS OF CEDAR CITY LIONS Cedar City Lions proved themselves excellent hosts when' they entertained representatives of the various Lions Clubs in Southern Utah and the entire Lions Club of Milford and their ladies at a banquet and dance at Cedar Tuesday Tues-day night. Though it was Cedar's celebration, in honor of the receiving of their charter, the Milford Lions were made the honor guests on the occasion. They featured prominently on the program, were thanked and praised by Cedar speakers for their help in organizing or-ganizing the Cedar Club and were introduced in-troduced individually to the rest of the assembly at the banquet. Approximately three hundred lions and their partners were present sixty of whom were Cedar members and their ladies and 37 of whom were from Milford. Among the local Lions who participated partici-pated prominently in the entertainment entertain-ment were president Bert Wynaught and past president Sam Cline who were called on to speak, Harold Cline and R. E. Ellingsworth who furnished considerable amusement by their antics an-tics as tail twisters, and Dr. C. R. Parrish and Lorus Hand who sang during the program. .Representatives of Lions Clubs of Beaver, Panguitch, Kanab and Salt Lake City were also present and asked to speak. The climax of the program however was the presentation of the charter by District Governer Godfrey to President I. E. Riddle whose acceptance ac-ceptance speech marked the case of the banquet. The rest of the evening was spent in dancing. |
