Show ; BEAVER . ; Mrs. Ethel Hickman, of Milford, is ' confined to the home of her mother. Mrs. Hattie Ashworth, in Beaver suffering with an aggravated attack of heart trouble. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ashworth of Milford Mil-ford spent a few days the first of the week at the home of Mrs. Hattie Ashworth in Beaver. Norma Jean, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Pearce, suffered a painful burn last Thursday, when she ran against a hot stove. The injury is not serious. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Thompson, of Park City, arrived Thursday for a short visit with relatives and friends. Martel Easton and Ed Larsen left Saturday for Los Angeles on a short business and pleasure trip. Miss Louise Huntington returned Saturday from Salt Lake City where she had been visiting friends and relatives re-latives for a week. Neil Boyter, Alton Swindlehurst and Louis Lessing spent Sunday in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Jeddy Dean and grandchildren spent Sunday with friends and relatives in Milford. Mrs. Lottie Pearce and son Ernest left Sunday for Salt Lake City where they will spend a few days visiting with Mrs. Pearce's daughter, and attending at-tending to business matters. Maurine Christiansen, of Beaver, who is a student at the B. A. C. in Cedar City, has been awarded the $5.00 cash prize offered by the Cedar City Mercantile Company for the best essay on the life of George Washington, in a contest held at the college. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Tattersall, of Beaver, are the proud parents of a fine baby boy which arrived at the Ii)on County hospital on Saturday, March 5. The young man tipped the scales at 6V2 pounds and is the first grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Low on the mother's side and the first grandchild of Mrs. Mary Tattersall, Tatter-sall, on its father's side. Needless to say that the young man will be a welcome visitor in the household. Dick, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Othello iPearce, suffered severe injuries in-juries Saturday when his arm was caught in an electric wringer at the Beaver Hotel. The child was playing about the machine while it was in operation. Catching its hand between the rolls, the arm was drawn through to the shoulder before the machine could be stopped. Fortunately no bones were broken, but the skin and flesh was badly torn and bruised. County clerk Wm. A. Miller, Attorney At-torney Abe Murdock, Sheriff Neils Jensen and Treasurer S. Taylor Farnsworth made a trip to Salt Lake City the first of the week on the mission mis-sion of securing funds for the operation opera-tion of the county affairs until such a time as the county money now tied up in the closed bank in Beaver is released. March 22 will be a gala day here when Beaver entertains the 100-piece Bulldog Band from the Junior College Col-lege of Pasadena, California. This aggregation is being brought here under the auspices of the Beaver Beav-er Lions club, and the performance which will include afternoon and evening ev-ening performances is to be entirely free for the pleasure of the people of Beaver county. |
