The boy was very weak and for a time it seemed as though he would not pull through, but rallied and is now getting along nicely. j The shotgun was placed in an auto ' full of boys. The boys started out to drive and on the trip, between Mbdena and Caliente, some playful scuffling started which caused the gun to be jarred and fired. The charge of pellets entered Frank's right arm, making such a serious wound that immediate amputation was the only thing that could be done. Splintering of the bone made it necessary to take the member off near the shoulder. After the operation, when told of what had been done, Frank took the blow in a manly fashion.
