Show SUBSCRIPTION CAMPAIGN A COMPLETE SUCCESS It is with no small degree of pride that the News acknowledges ack-nowledges the subscription campaign which came to a close Saturday to be a complete success. To the candidates who worked so faithfully, we wish to express our appreciation for their loyalty and great effort put forth throughout the campaign. It was a pleasure indeed to award to these candi- dates the prizes which they had so well earned. The contest was a fair one from beginning to end and our thanks also go to Mr. and Mrs- A. H. Churchill who directed and assisted the candidate in securing subscribers. No rancor existed among the candidates upon the awarding of the prizes other than the natural disappointment disappoint-ment of those who had set their hearts upon winning the highest award. Because of their zeal to win we should' like to have been able to have awarded a car to each of them. As we scan our increased subscription list, we feel that we must accept it only as a trust. We shall endeavor to give the public as good a paper as possible, hoping thereby to keep the News in the homes of these new subscribers for years to come. The benefits of the campaign to the newspaper are immediate. im-mediate. With the News completely blanketing its field, the entire staff, editor and correspondents, are spurred on to greater endeavors in assemblying news of interest. The paper will be in position to render a much more efficient advertising service to business houses. It will be a powerful force in joining with the boosting spirit which now permeates permeat-es Milford and will be able to better do its part in serving its community. The dream of every country editor has been realized a circulation list covering its field practically one hundred per cent, and all paid in advance. Again we extend our thanks to those who have assisted in making this a reality. |
