Show CALIENTE I. O. O. F. HOLD BIG MEET - Great activity has been noted during dur-ing this week in the Odd Fellows lodges of Caliente, the Meadow Valley Val-ley Lodge initiating a large class on Thursday evening while on Saturday evening the Mt. Vernon Encampment No. 8, of Caliente put a class of 1G candidates through all three degrees of the order. Seventy-five oddfellows from all parts of Lincoln County were present at the ceremonies, which were followed by a banquet. Mount Vernon Encampment No. 8 of Caliente is now the largest Encampment Encamp-ment under the jurisdiction of Nev-ula, Nev-ula, having 130 members on its roster, many oddfellows from Pioche and Las Vegas holding membership in the Caliente camp. The ceremonies of initiation conducted con-ducted by Meadow Valley Lodge No. 48 on Thursday were in charge of L. C. Denton, in charge of the initiatory degree, M. R. Darling and George Schmidt are the presiding officers, 35 members were present in lodge, including Frank Bcrger who ass.stod but a few years ago in the institution of the Lodge. The ceremonies of the Mount Vernon Ver-non Encampment were in charge of James Banner, District Deputy Grand Patriarch of the Camp, while E. F-Sherwood, F-Sherwood, chief Patriarch and Patriarchs Patri-archs M. R. Darling and Goorge Schmidt had charge of the floor .work, the work being put on by the same efficient team that went to Mil-ford, Mil-ford, Utah, during August to assist l in instituting the Milford Camp un-j un-j der the Utah jurisdiction. Following the putting on of the three advanced degrees the members sat down to a i sumptuous banquet served by the refreshment re-freshment committee in the Lodge room, at which E. C. D.
