This sudden limitation of the hearings hear-ings waa made in executive session, and when the committee resumed In public session Chairman Hardwlck announced that no more testimony with the tariff question Involved would be taken. A score of witnesses wit-nesses were waiting to be heard. C. C. Hamlin of Colorado, representing repre-senting Independent refining Inter-eta, Inter-eta, asked If the witness who had made an investigation of the European Euro-pean sugar beet industry could be beard. "The record baa been filled with abatements which Independent sugar refiners are preparing to contradict are we to get that oportunity ?" ok ed Mr. Hamlin. "We will not hear anything excepl that which I have outlined," answer ed Mr. Hardwlck. "But can we not straighten out the record?
