The range was a most fitting-present fitting-present as it was greatly needed to facilitate operations in this department, and judging from the looks of the room, the neatness neat-ness of the young ladies enlisted in the work there and the general gen-eral appearance of the old range which the new one goes to augment aug-ment it will be highly appreciated and well cared for. Altho we arrived rather late for the literary numbers we arrived ar-rived in time to enjoy the latter part of it which was beyond reproach. re-proach. The sports in the gymnasium were carried out to perfection by Supt. IVlcClellan and his assistants as-sistants who certainly worked hard and intelligently to entertain their guests. They were rewarded reward-ed by the enthusiastic support of their guests and the hearty ring of merriment from them all the way thru, and not a dull moment was evident throughout the entire en-tire program, and we never attended at-tended a public function where time passed more pleasantly and so little opportunity presented us to lapse into listlessness or get bored. In the midst of the sports came the refreshments, prepared prepar-ed and served by the students of the Domestic Science Department. Depart-ment. ' There is where we really got scared. The girl who passed pas-sed around the delicious viands on her round overlooked us. While ordinarily very demure, we were ust getting ready to give the "bread cry" when our better half soothed us by offering offer-ing to divide. But the young lady who served had evidently been reared in the light of the Declaration of Independence, "With charity toward all," and appeared before us r.n her second round with a plate of delicious eatables which were very appetizing and to which we did a full measure of justice. Professor McClell'an, as all others who were instrumental in providing the entertainment have just cause to be proud of the success of their entertainment entertain-ment and we take this occasion and the responsability of extending extend-ing to them the thanks of the Chronicle family and ail its readers read-ers who were fortunate enough to be present. - Oh! yes. We almost forgot something. We did some .business .busi-ness while at the entertainment.
