Show Those being present were Afton Hinckley, Ely Moody, Laverna Wright, Laverna Nelson, Mrs. Geneva Bishop, Mrs. Myrtle Wright, Lapriel Robinson, Rena Reeve, Mrs. C. A. Broaddus, Clara Stewart, Lottie Bishop, Mabel and Wealthy Parker, Claris Erickson, and Esther and Fern Reeve. ' The people of this community were very much astonished when they heard of the return of Allen Keller from Fillmore, bringing with him his bride, Miss Lillie Loveland, and no doubt they were in turn surprised the first night after their arrival with the various noises that were heard ' around the house. We wish this young couple a prosperous and happy life. A lecture was given last Sunday Sun-day night at Deseret by Demonstrator Demon-strator Welch to the Home Eco-nomic3 Eco-nomic3 Ass'n. We are quite sure that the result of this lecture lec-ture will be a general clean-up of the town of Deseret- preparatory to the county fair. We also think that his lecture given in Hinckley has resulted in a vast amount of good already. Many people have begun to clean their own back yards and free their lots frhm the weeds and filth. A very sanitary movement- Keep it up citizens and let's have our town clean. Farm Demonstrator, Welch and Prof. G. E. Frevert, of the Western West-ern Dairy Division, have been visiting-the cheese factories of Millard Co. this week. Millard county, has six cheese factories all of which are producing good cheese. The Farm Demonstrator Demonstrat-or secured the assistance of Mr. Fervert because he is an expert in cheese making and can be of much assistance to the cheese makers of our Co. Mr. Frevert will begin a special line of cooperative coop-erative educational work with these men which we believe will result, eventually, in Millard Co. producing cheese of equal quality qual-ity to that from the eastern states. The B. G; H. girls took another anoth-er lay off from the regular meeting meet-ing to have a corn and potato roast. It was a jolly bunch that sat around the fire, each with a a long stick, with a cob of corn attached to it. With another stick they turned potatoes pota-toes occasionally. Here let us add, if anyone wants marhmal-lows marhmal-lows they can get them at the Cash Drug, but don't fail to soak them over night. Pudge thinks eats cooked out of doors better not happen too often, because "It takes on too much fat." After such a sporty time the week before the B. G. H.'s thot they couldent settle down to a plain business meeting so a sleeping party was arranged. Toward evening girls from all parts of town were seen with a quilt, pillow and can of pork and beans. The table was spread for the following Mabel and Wealthy Parker, Mary and Fannie Fan-nie Cropper, Gladys Bishop, Nina Ni-na Pratt, Nellie Bishop, Claris Erickson, Elsie Richards, Verna Nelson, Lapriel Robinson, Bly Moody and Laverna Wright. One girl had a birthday. She brot the cake with a thousand candles, which served as centerpiece. center-piece. Peaches go well with birthday cake sd Wealthy and Bly think everybody seemed to enjoy them equally as much, even ev-en if they didnt get so many. A family bed was then made. About three o'clock there was a slight lull of voices, and some visirors thinking them asleep, showered them with water, after af-ter which the time was spent in sleeping. Hinckley Happenings Our druggist, C. H. Anderson, is in Salt Lake on business. Miss Hodges from Beaver, is here clerking in Mr. Woodbury's store. A bounteous crop of wheat has been harvested by Milton and Joel Moody an average yield of 33 bu. to the acre. Eugene and Wilford Hilton have returned home after having hav-ing worked all summer for an Aluminum Co. They seem to thiuk there is no place like home. Miss Eda Cropper and A. I. - Tippets have just returned from their summer vacation. They seem to be exceedingly happy. We wonder if it's because school ii so soon to start? Last Saturday an exciting game of base ball was played at Deseret between Hinckley and the home team, Hinckley win- - ning by a score of 6 to 9. This makes the second game Hinckley Hinck-ley has won from them. Get busy Deseret because you will have to play a little harder next time. A unique, informal ladies dancing danc-ing party was given at the home of Mrs. C. A. Broaddus, Miss Rena Reeve acting as hostess, last Wednesbay evening lasting from 8 o'clock, p. m., to 11. There were no special lights provided pro-vided as the full moon did his best to make the dancers trir J;ghtly and gay over the floor. of the tennis court. Delicious refreshments re-freshments were served and all the guests left feeling that the had had a most delightful time |
