"' .. - ;.. .- - - The above picture shows some of the construction work being be-ing done at the dam on :evier river which impounds 250,000 acre feet of water which, during the irrigation season is spread over the "Greater Delta" Country. The lower part of the picture shows cribs from where the steel sheefpiling is started and driven driv-en to bedrock, 35 feet below. At 1'artheV end of cribbing is the steam trip hammer which drives the pile. Just beyond the team of horses one of the concrete wings, where' it meets the steel piling, pil-ing, begins and angles off to the right, then to the left. |
