During the past week eight Utah mining companies distributed tht sum of $2,334,190 to their stockholders. Shipments of ore from TIntic last week totaled 129 Carloads, or 6.450 Ions, valued at $160,000. This is compared com-pared with 130 cars the previous week. Members of the Utah section of the American Institute of Mining Engineers, Engi-neers, held the first annual meeting at Salt Lake on Monday evening, October Octo-ber 4. It is understood that the new mill which is now under construction at Silver City will be able to handle the big tailings dump at the Eureka Hill property. Ore production last week from the mines of Park City amounted to 1,663 tons, valued at $66,000. It is compared with 2,634 tons the previous week, valued val-ued at $100,000. It is reported from Wasatch that the Salt Lake & Alta railroad is now handling an average of about four carloads of first-class ore daily from the mines of Alta. This is estimated at forty tons to the car, or 160 tons daily. During the month of September the leasers at the Gemini mine shipped in the neighborhood of 150 tons of ore, ajid according to Superintendent J. H. McChrystal, this product will average up ibetter than $25 per ton, says tlie Eureka Reporter. From the Utah & Eastern Copper company's old mine, located about eighteen miles ncuthwest from St. George, a carload of ore was recently shipped by leasers to the Salt Lake valley smelters which sampled 26.5 per cent copper. Production of Ray Consolidated is now in excess of 6,000,000 pounds cop- per a month. With completion of flotation flo-tation process now being installed, without increasing that tonnage, it may reach 7,500,000 pounds a month by the end of the year. Tintic mine operators added to the world's available wealth during the month of September the large tonnage ton-nage of 506 carsloads of ore, estimated estimat-ed at 25,300 tons, valued at $630,000. This is compared with 648 carloads in August and 8177 in July. Directors of the Bingham-New Haven Mining company have just paid off a 20-cent dividend, which requires the distribution of $45,740 on the 228,-700 228,-700 shares issued. From New York came word last week that the United States Smeltini & Refining company had declared a regular quarterly dividend of 8 7 ',4 cents on the preferred stock. No c tion was taken on the common. The last dividend on the common was 7c cents.
