Show Delta School Yesterday we had clean up day at the school. The army that poured from the doors of the old frame houses made us wonder where all the children ' came from and why it was necessary to keep them in such a building. There is only one consolation and that is that when they get old they can say, "Still stands the school house by the road, a ragged beggar sleeping," and know what they are talking about. But they don't mind now for yesterday 218 pupils, bubbling over with vigor and happiness, under the care of seven teachers went out, and with good will, put forth an effort to make their school home a more sightly and healthful place in which to live for one more year, after which they fully expect to have a bigger big-ger and a better home. We feel that under our new system of school management our condition will be made better and therefore we'll be able to do more and better work. Pupils good in some studies and poor in others will not be held back because be-cause of the difficult ones, but will be given a chance in a higher high-er grade with the studies in which they prove worthy. We shall receive no pupil under un-der six years of age or beginners after the first four weeks of school. Pupils have been instructed to go home as soon as school is out and to bring no little visitors to school. Parents are ask to help make these and other rules effective, to visit our school and advise with teachers as to the wellfare of their children. Yours respectfully, Delta school, i '. |
