Show Decrease in Contagious Diseases. In view of the alarming increase in heart and arterial diseases, nervous troubles and insanity as well as cancer can-cer it is at least comforting to find from recent statistics that the mortality mor-tality from diphtheria and cerebrospinal cerebro-spinal meningitis has been reduced nearly 60 per cent in New York alone since antitoxin was first understood. True cholera infantum, too, is rarely seen now that baby feeding has become be-come a science while the great epidemics epi-demics of typhus and smallpox which used to sweep the country, are practically prac-tically unknown. |
