Show Mr. Burgess, son-in-law and family have moved on the place across from the Bowles place. I am sorry I do not know their name but we understand they are going to live there perma-nantly. perma-nantly. It is indeed a pleasure to drive to Delta and not be hitting bumps and chucks in the road and when we get there to find the culverts and bridges fixed. The young folks that attended the "kid dance" in Delta last Friday night report having had lots of fun dancing and eating all-day-suckers. Little Ina Simpkins had the misfortune to run a pitchfork in her foot last week, causing her to be absent from school for several sev-eral -days. Mrs. Davis has rented the Bowles place, and Fred Kenney and family have moved on to it. Mr. Kenny will tend that place and Novilla place for Mrs. Davis. W. R. Walker is having an addition put on his house which will add to the appearance of the place. Sutherland Searchlights Miss Charlesworth of Red-lands, Red-lands, stopped here for a two days visit at the Titus home. All who met her regretted that her stay was so short. Mr. Hanna and family expect to leave today for their home in Riverside, Cali. They have been proving up pn their place here. They came thru in their car and will return the same way. Last Friday the Jolly Stitchers met with Mesdames Bassett and Kincaid at the home of the former. for-mer. A most enjoyable time was had. At the close delicious refreshments were served. The next regular meeting will be in the nature of a hallowe'en party at the home of Mrs. Davis. Mrs. Wellman left for her home in Hollywood, Calif., after a delightful visit of several months with her daughter, Mrs. Boardman. A large crowd from here attended at-tended the Democrat rally in Delta Del-ta and were very favorably impressed im-pressed with the addresses. Mrs. Maria Smith has taken the agency for the Thomas hosiery hos-iery which is of a very good quality and we wish her success. R. W. Britt, who had the misfortune mis-fortune to dislocate his knee early this summer is having trouble with it again and at times it is very painful. Wm. R. Livingston, of Salt Lake is here for a few clays on business. Last Wednesday evening at the home of W. R. Walker, there was a big "Chicken Feed". A number were there from Delta. |
