Show LEAMINGTON LOCALS The most excitement which has happened hap-pened since tbe holidays wss the game of banket ball Saturday evening between the Oak City and the Leamington Leam-ington st nlor basket ball teams. Tbe score was 17 to 33 In favor of the vlaltlng team anI we feet greatly honored to have even come this near, seeing how completely we were overmatched, over-matched, and owing to the fat that our best player was unable to be here. We enjoyed the game Immensely even though defeat was ours, for It baa only been a short time ago that Oak City would have laughed at tbe Idea of playing us. We can at least make It Interesting enough now to draw a crowd from both towns. We are sorry, very sorry, Oak City correspondent. If we offended you In any way by calling you school team a Junior toani. We were merely Judging from the age of one or two of tbe boys, but will take It back, for It was our school team. Sorry we have no Junior team to accept the challenge offered In the last Chronicle. Two moving picture shows were given In our town last week. Tbe one was very good, was a company from Eureka and furnished their own eleo-trlc eleo-trlc power to operate their pictures and light tbe ball. It Is the best we have ever bad and hope to fee them again. Mr. Andrews of Nephl was In town Isst week and bought all of Fred Kiel-son's Kiel-son's seed and will be back In a day or two to ship It Mr. Samuel Richie who was Injured some time ago In a powder explosion at Johnson's tunnel Is reported to be Improving. A ward reunion was held here Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Jan. 16, and an enjoyable program pro-gram wss rendered, after which an oyster supper was served and everyone every-one hsd a jolly good time. One certain bowl Is preserved for Itishop A ah bey for this occasion and each year It Is there without fall, filled and in Its place at the bead of the table.
