Show A BOUNTY NEEDED. We hoe the commissioners will make provision for paying a bounty on quinips and squirrels. These pests result In serious loss to every farmer In the county. Commissioner Hushnell thinks that a bounty of about one cent, or even half a cent, would result In a big diminution of these pests. This would not be enough to Induce any one to go out In the sand bills for them, but every farmer's child would have an Inducement to clean them off the farm. The bounty would all go back to the farmers' family. The state law provides that the state shall pay half the tax, and as the railroad pays nearly near-ly half tbe county tax It would be an Inappreciable burden on the taxpayer, while the result would be a considerable consider-able Increase Iri thecrops.' What do you think about It, Mr. Commissioner? |
