WHITEWASH FOR HEN HOUSES Excellent Plan to Treat Building Once Every Year Government Formula For-mula Is Given. Each year many prefer to whitewash white-wash their poultry houses both Inside and out. This la a good plan; It effectually ef-fectually destroys mites and purifies the premises. The following Is a formula for-mula used by the government on lighthouses, light-houses, etc. Slake one peck of quicklime quick-lime with boiling water, covering -laia' ,aA.tarm ,a,g ,the water Is supplied. sup-plied. When It la slaked strain and add one gallon of salt dissolved In hot water, two pounds of powdered rice previously boiled to a thin paste, a quarter of a pound of Spanish whiting, whit-ing, a half pound of clean glue dissolved dis-solved in warm water. Thoroughly 1 mix these Ingredients, cover, and let 1 the mixture set for a few days to 1 ripen. It may be applied with a white- 1 wash brush or made thin enough to 1 be sprayed on with a spray pump. In 1 the latter rase give two or even three 1 coats, one after another, as soon as 1 dry. Every nest, coop, fence, and wood trough should receive the sprsy 1 on all sides. No lice, mites or vermin can live where this whitewash has been well applied. It should be put on while warm. This will last as long 1 aa paint, tbey aay.
